En Baja California y Chihuahua existe unamayor propor-
ciónde inmigrantesnacidosenEstadosUnidos conmadre
o padre mexicano. Ambos con más de 40 mil inmigran-
tes en su territorio seguidos de Jalisco y Tamaulipas con
más de 30mil. Estos estados se caracterizan ya sea por
compartir frontera con Estados Unidos o tener una larga
tradiciónmigratoria. Lamayoríade lasviviendasseubican
principalmenteen localidadesgrandes.
In Baja California and Chihuahua, the proportion of U.S.
born immigrants with a Mexican mother or father is
higher. Both states have over 40,000 immigrants in their
territory, followed by Jalisco and Tamaulipas, withmore
than30,000. These stateseither havea frontierwith the
United States or else a long migratory tradition. Most
people live in largepopulation centers.
