de tránsito, utilizando información del flujo de personas devueltas captadas por la Encuesta sobre
Migraciónen la FronteraSur (EMIFSUR)2010-2013.
Paraesteanálisis se considera laedad, país deorigeny sexo comoelementos quedan cuentade las
diversas aristas del fenómeno. Además, con el objetivo de proporcionar nociones para una mejor
atencióndeestamigración, seanalizael flujodemujeresque, comootrosgrupos, requieren ser visi-
bilizadasdebidoa sualtavulnerabilidadduranteel trayectopor el país.
The migration of Central Americans, passing through Mexico to reach the United States, is a
phenomenondatingbackseveral years.At theendof the twentiethcenturyand thebeginningof the
twenty-first century, irregularmigration flows increased as a result of the impact of several natural
phenomena, togetherwitheconomicand social crises inGuatemala, El Salvador andHonduras.
Thischapter shows the trendsand featuresofCentralAmericanmigration throughMexico, using the
information of the flows of people sent back collected by the Survey onMigration at the Southern
Border (EMIFSUR)2010-2013.
Thisanalysis looksat theage, countryoforiginandgender, factors revealing thedifferentaspectsof
the phenomenon. In addition, in order to provide pointers as to how to respondmore appropriately
to this type of migration, we analyse the flows of women which, as with other groups, needmore
visibility inviewof thedangers theyundergowhenpassing through the country.
