de IntensidadMigratoria. En el quinto capítulo se examinan las prin-
cipales características sociodemográficas y laborales de losmigran-
tesmexicanos de retorno. Los capítulos sexto y séptimopresentan
información de dos realidades paralelas: lamigración en tránsito y
lamigracióndemenores de edad, respectivamente. Estos capítulos
exploran tanto la situación de las mujeres centroamericanas que
viajan porMéxico como lamigración demenores de edad registra-
dos por las autoridades de México y Estados Unidos; además de
explorar la informaciónde losmenorescentroamericanosdevueltos
por las autoridadesmexicanas.
El octavo capítulo se enfoca en los inmigrantes nacidos en Estados
Unidos, hijos de mexicanos y en su mayoría menores de 18 años;
el objetivo es analizar primordialmente la dificultad que tiene dicha
población en el accesoa la educaciónya los servicios de salud. En el
noveno capítulo se analiza la situación de los refugiados, personas
quetienenqueabandonarsupaísdeorigeno residenciahabitual para
salvar sus vidas o conservar su libertad; se presentan sus tenden-
ciasycaracterísticas, ademásde resaltar suprocedenciay lospaíses
que les han brindado protección. En el décimo y último capítulo, se
haceuna revisiónde ladistribución, origen ydestinode los flujos de
remesasmonetarias internacionales y se analiza la distribución por
entidad federativay las característicasque tienen loshogaresmexi-
canos receptoresde remesas. Porúltimosepresentaunglosariocon
los principales términos utilizados en lapublicación.
El Anuario representa un esfuerzo con el que se espera contribuir al
análisis sobre la migración internacional en México, intentando ex-
plorar y visibilizar las distintas aristas de este tema tan complejo y
dinámico, perode suma importanciaparael desarrollodel país.
The fourth chapter presents for first time a comparative analysis,
looking at the components of international migration fromMexico
between2000and2010at national and state levels, the resultsof
which are integrated into the Absolute Migration Intensity Index.
The fifth chapter examines themain sociodemographic and labor
characteristics of returningMexican migrants. The sixth and sev-
enth present information about the two parallel realities: transit
migration through Mexico and child migration, respectively. This
explores in some depth the migratory flows by Central American
women traveling throughMexico; and childmigration, recorded by
the Mexican and U.S. authorities; these sections also explore the
informationaboutunderageCentralAmericanswhohavebeensent
backby theMexicanauthorities.
The eighth chapter looks at immigrants born in theUS ofMexican
parents; most of them are under 18. The aim of this chapter is
to find out what difficulties this group of people has in accessing
education and healthcare services. The ninth chapter considers
the situation of refugees, people who have to leave their country
of origin or habitual residence to save their lives or conserve their
freedom. This chapter describes some of the trends in this area
and their defining features, such as the source locations and the
countrieswhichhaveprovidedprotection. Finally, the tenth chapter
first reviews thedistribution, originanddestinationof international
remittance flows; then it presents information on the specific case
of Mexico, as well as the characteristics of households receiving
remittances in that country. There is aglossarywith thekey terms
used in thepublication.
